My Apple Watch series 1 face has popped off from the body. I called a certified Apple repair shop in my community and they advised I reach out as this is a known issue due to the faulty battery (swelling). What are my options for repair?
You would call or chat Apple to ship it into them at the battery service cost. If the repair center finds anything other than a swollen battery, like liquid damage or damage from impacts They will email you a requote to either pay the remaining balance for full out of warranty repair cost or to have it returned without repair.
You can replace the battery but apple doesn’t do battery replacements on non AppleCare+ watches
This is the second time this has happened to me. The actually face of the watch flips up. It becomes detached from the body of the watch. Has nothing to do with the battery.
Typically there are two main causes. 1. The battery swells pushing the face off. 2. Accidental damage. In either case only Apple can help now since the Apple authorized repair shop said it’s the battery and told you to contact Apple.
