yes... let me see.... hmm... i see you are running Big Sur, arozansky... try here for the latest big sur hp 8600 software... firmware update included.. https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8600-e-all-in-one-printer-series---n9/4322914/model/4323658.. you could try 'preview' or 'image capture'..?? i think you have to uninstall the older software.. then use the link at the top to get the latest one, and install it--- after you have done the firmware update for your printer...

Right....thanks for the reminder.... If you can believe it, arozansky, the default for Catalina for everyone is read only.... so you have to give it permission to read and write. click on your hard drive once, and then do a "Get Info " on it.... and in the long box or window that comes up, just below the half way point.,....there should be something about sharing and permissions....there should be a 2 position column with the user one one side, and their permissions on the other side. If you click on that column and hold down it'll show up... you also have to go to the bottom and unlock it , using your startup/admin/login name and password.. then make the changes, by clicking on the right hand side of the column, say "Yes" and then lock it up again.... don't ask me why it's done that way... I have no idea.... anyways it might also be under System Preferences then Security..... perhaps you can Google "Mac Catalina security permission change".....

kinda drawing a blank here....need coffee....post back later and I'm sure someone will be around to help you out
