Moving photos and videos from iCloud on iPhone to windows pc via iPad?

Questioner General

My iPhone is backed up with iCloud, however I don’t have enough storage to download everything to backup on my external hard drive.

I have an iPad with a different account, so it isn’t synced with my main. If I was to airdrop files from my iPhone to iPad, would it download the full resolution and quality so the files would be the same on the iPad? I could then back it up onto my windows pc then hard drive. This is for mainly photos and videos.

has anybody done this? Would / does it work?

thanks.

Hey there dongdingdang,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’d like to know if you can AirDrop your photos and videos from your iPhone to your iPad without losing any of the quality. We’ll be happy to help.

You shouldn’t lose any quality when using AirDrop to share your photos and videos from your iPhone to your iPad. You can read more about using AirDrop here:

How to use AirDrop on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care.
