Music skips unless downloaded to iCloud library

Questioner General

I have no idea what happened, but for some reason, certain music tracks keep skipping when I try to play them. Only when I download them to my iCloud library will they play fine.

Here's the problem - I don't want to have to keep stuff on my hard drive in order to have to listen to it, at least while I'm connected to the internet. It also negates previewing the tracks prior to downloading them.

I've tried restarting my computer, signing out and in again, reauthorising my computer, and none of them fix this problem.

Is there a problem with Apple Music that could be fixed later down the line? Thanks.

Reboot your router and computer. Press and hold down Option+Cmd as you launch Music to open it in safe mode. Use Music > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Cache. See if behaviour is any better.
