I have a MacBook Pro (Retine, 13-inch, Mid 2014). It has 2 thunderbolt ports and 1 HDMI port.
The 3 ports have worked simultaneously in the past connected to 3 external monitors all at once.
The current situation is:
I can connect whatever 2 ports to 2 external monitors. However, whenever I try to connect a 3rd external monitor to the additional port (whatever this port is - Thunderbolt port A, Thunderbolt port B, or HDMI), one of the Thunderbolt port gets disconnected, thus I can only use 2 out of the 3 displays I have.
This never happened in this past.
Things I have tried:
Nothing has worked so far.
Can someone shed some light on the matter?
It sounds like you are experiencing an issue connecting multiple displays with your Mac. We understand how important this is to you and we are here to help.
Currently your Mac only supports 2 external displays at once. More information can be found here: Use multiple displays with your Mac
Specifically the section titled "Connect the displays."
None of the Mac computer described fit what I have (2 Thunderbolts, 1 HDMI).
What do you mean with "currently your mac only supports 2 external display"?
What has changed in my Mac computer, as I was able to connect 3 external displays just fine a few months ago?
I appreciate the help!
We cannot speak to why your Mac was able to connect 3 displays previously or what has changed.
